Episcia
Episcia
piscia is a genus of flowering plants in the African violet family, Gesneriaceae. The ten species it contains are native to the tropical regions of Central and South America.
Episcias love regular moisture and do not like to dry out completely. Water them once a week, keeping the soil moist but not wet. They require high humidity to thrive, ideal for bathrooms and kitchens near a window that receives lots of light.
It needs lots of bright, indirect light and well-drained potting soil. Flowers are solitary and usually red, pink and orange. There are many cultivators available with various colored leaves and flowers. They are very attractive in hanging baskets and have a creeping habit.
