- Statement plant – highly sought-after and architectural
🌱 Care Guide
Light:
Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun.
Water:
Keep soil lightly moist but well-drained.
Humidity:
Prefers higher humidity for optimal leaf size and health.
Temperature:
18–27°C. Keep away from cold drafts.
Soil:
Chunky, airy mix (compost + bark + perlite).
🪴 Growth Tip (Important)
While Philodendron gloriosum is naturally a crawler, you can encourage upright growth by adding a moss pole that retains moisture and allows aerial roots to attach and grow into it.
- Use a real moss pole (sphagnum-filled) rather than a dry coir pole
- Keep the pole slightly moist to encourage root attachment
- This can result in larger leaves and a more vertical, compact display
Options like D-shaped or “living moss” poles (check Our Gentle Garden moss poles here) work particularly well.
📏 Size
- Pot size: 12cm
- Approx height: 30cm
- Growth habit: Creeping (trainable upright)
⚠️ Pet Safety
Toxic if ingested. Keep away from pets and children.
💡 Styling Tip
Let it crawl in a wide pot for a natural look, or train it up a moss pole for a more vertical, high-impact statement piece.
