Also known as mistletoe cactus, is a family of epiphytic cacti native to Central and Southern America. Naturally found in the understory of trees, Rhipsalis prefers bright, indirect light and can tolerate direct morning and evening light. The best place to put it is at least a few feet removed from a window, but Rhipsalis is an extremely hardy plant and can also tolerate low light spaces.

Not edible. Non-toxic if accidentally ingested.

Plant Care

Light: Moderate indirect sunlight. This plant can also tolerate low light but doesn't show much growth in this situation.

Water: Once a week during summer, once a fortnight in winter is the general rules. It may vary from your house temperature and light exposition, so always check the soil before watering. Rhipsalis will let you know when it’s thirsty because its tendrils will start to pucker and lose rigidity. If the tendrils turn brown and crispy, you’ve waited too long since last watering, but don’t despair — Rhipsalis are very forgiving plants and will usually bounce back.

Care Instructions
